Geraldines P Moran GAA Underage & Adult Coaching accreditation policy
This policy defines the necessary requirements and accreditation needed by club coaches/mentors to ensure consistent, player focused coaching empowering seamless player pathway transition from juvenile through to adult grades. Coaches/Mentors will progressively improve their skills from accredited workshops and courses enabling them to provide train-the-trainer sessions and game preparatory skills to their coaching teams.
To be defined as a HELPER or Female Liaison Officer(FLO) for Geraldines P Moran’s you must possess the following valid accreditation and/or certifications:
· Garda Vetting certificate
· Child Safeguarding
To be defined as a COACH/MENTOR at CCC1 (under 12) for Geraldines P Moran’s you must possess the following valid accreditations and/or certifications:
· Garda Vetting certificate
· Child Safeguarding
· Introduction to Gaelic Games Coaching (ICGG) Award (foundation course)
To be defined as a COACH/MENTOR at CCC2 (over aged 12) for Geraldines P Moran’s you must possess the following valid accreditation and/or certifications:
· Garda Vetting certificate
· Child Safeguarding
· Gaelic Games Coaching (ICGG) Award (foundation course)
· Award 1 Coach child (up to and including U12), youth/adult (12+)
To be defined as a LEAD coach/mentor at CCC2 (over aged 12) for Geraldines P Moran’s you must possess the following valid accreditations and/or certifications:
· Garda Vetting certificate
· Child Safeguarding
· Gaelic Games Coaching (ICGG) Award (foundation course)
· Award 1 Coach child (up to and including U12), youth/adult (12+)
· Aspiration that all CCC2 Head Coaches are qualified to Award Level 2, to be reviewed yearly with desire that this aspiration becomes a Club requirement.
Commencing 2025 and onwards, Geraldines P Moran’s GAA, LGFA & Camogie coaching/mentoring groups, grades U9 through adult, will require a minimum of one coach/mentor to have completed, or, be engaged in an Award 1 coaching certification in each code they currently coach/mentor. The benefits of this will be improvements in peer-to-peer coaching and player pathway consistency through all grades to adult.
