We are delighted to formally launch the Gers Abseil Challenge 2026. We are looking for 100 members from across the Club to abseil 150ft off the roof of Croke Park while taking in the panoramic views across the city. All funds raised will have a direct impact on the development and growth of our Club and its members. In addition, a share of the proceeds raised will be donated to Arc Cancer Care.
How do I join the Gers Abseil Challenge 2026
Click on this link Abseiling from Croke Park to take you to the Club’s main fundraising page on iDonate.
Select ‘Start Fundraising’ then follow the step by step instructions on the page to get set up (these steps are also detailed below)
Each participant must raise a minimum of €350 to take part but we suggest setting your fundraising target at €500.
Is there an age restriction?
All participants must be over the age of 18 – but there are no upper limits!
What happens on the day of the abseil?
Each participant will be allocated a time slot for their abseil in advance of the day itself. There will be refreshments of tea and coffee provided and each participant may bring along 3 supporters on the day. We will provide more details about the day itself to all participants over the coming weeks.
We hope that we can get as many of our members as possible across our Club to get involved in this event.

Update your page’s story. Here is some suggested wording but feel free to create your own unique story.
‘I'm taking part in the Ger’s Abseiling from Croke Park Challenge event on the 20th of March. The name gives it all away really, I'll be abseiling from the top of Croke park down 150ft to the pitch below and taking in the views of the city and stadium on the way. I'm raising funds for the Geraldines P. Moran GAA Club for development of facilities and support for the 30+ teams across the club. I would really appreciate your support for a great Club. A share of the funds will also be donated to Arc Cancer Care - a very worthy charity!
That’s it – your page is good to go. If you click on the ‘Share’ icon on the right hand side of the page you will be given a choice of links for ease of sharing for WhatsApp, Email, QR code, etc.
You can go back and edit your page at any stage. Your fundraising totals will feed through to the main Geraldine Moran Abseiling page which will collate the total funds raised across the Club and will also show a league table for all participants.
